Entrepreneurs can have a prosperous relationship with government.
The South African government has made a commitment to grow entrepreneurs and industrialists by proactively supporting them and putting systems in place that will help them prosper.
Unfortunately the relationship between government and business is one of unease. Accusations of ‘tenderpreneurship’, technology systems which have failed to deliver and entrepreneurs failing to fulfil their commitments have all contributed to this negativity.
However there is light at the end of the tunnel and there are many opportunities for government and the private sector to work together profitably and efficiently.
The Money Expo 2016 is being billed as one of the largest financial events in the country and will bring together entrepreneurs, investors and other role players to address this opportunity.
On July 8 2016, Andile Ntingi (Founder of GetBiz), and Marc Ashton (MD of Moneyweb) will host Schalk Human, Chief Director of Supply Chain Management ICT in the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer (OCPO) at the National Treasury, for a breakfast function where we will investigate ways to make it easier to do business with government.
