Managing Director, MA Advance Ltd.
After fifteen years with World Vision International, Michael Arunga, leaves the organisation at the end of September this year, after serving diligently in various senior roles. These include Global Accountability and Transparency Advisor and Africa Emergency Communications Advisor among others.
Michael will join MA Advance Ltd, as managing director. The company is a consultancy communications firm he founded this year, whose other focus areas include advocacy, marketing, networking, research and training.
A development communications specialist, Michael is a holder of a master’s degree in communication for development. Prior to World Vision, he worked for various leading relief, development, training and advocacy organisations. He successfully developed and implemented communications and advocacy strategies, formed, led and mentored communication teams for leading organisations in Africa.
He has previously lectured at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC), worked as a theatre columnist for the East African Standard newspaper and consulted for numerous organisations, including the Department for International Development (DFID).
